Lowcountry South Loop
Lowcountry is a casual seafood restaurant that recreates the experience of a Gulf Coast boil. The South Loop location feels like a backyard party, complete with picnic tables, fake trees, astroturf, and a great playlist of ‘00s hits. Choose your combination of lobster, shrimp, crab, crawfish, and mussels, sauce (there are three), and spice level at the register, and a short while later you’ll get a bag of buttery, garlicky shellfish delivered to you. The sides are hit or miss, but it doesn’t matter since you’re not coming here for the garlic noodles and dirty rice—you’re coming here for Usher, and the very reasonably priced and well-cooked seafood.
