At first glance, the menu at Hearth in Evanston might not seem very interesting. You’ll see fairly basic options like like roasted beets, halibut, and filet mignon. But there are always a few curveballs worth trying, like tikka masala dumplings or elotes-style polenta, and everything is both tasty and nicely presented. Plus, eating outside here feels like sitting on a front porch surrounded by a very well-manicured lawn. It’s on the expensive side, but if you need to go out for a nice quiet dinner, this is a good option.
