River North is full of gigantic, sceney restaurants and expensive lunch options, so it makes sense if you haven’t noticed Fabcakes on Wells before - but that needs to change. This cafe serves housemade pastries, miniature quiches, and things like bagel sandwiches and paninis. The lattes come in unique flavors like vanilla rose and pepper fig, and the owner is always experimenting with new recipes, so you’ll find a new type of scone or tart available almost every day. It’s a low-key spot to get work done during the day, or to meet up with a friend for coffee.
