Chiu Quon Bakery

This is a classic Chinese bakery in Chinatown. Anything from their pastry case will be worth the trip, such as the pork buns, sponge cakes, sesame balls, egg custards, and much more. Everything is made fresh daily, and there are plenty of tables. It’s extremely affordable and cash only.

Egg Tarts

We can’t visit Chiu Quon and not get one of the egg tarts. Specifically the Portuguese—it has a rich creamy filling and delightfully flaky crust.

BBQ Pork Buns

The baked BBQ pork buns are soft and fluffy with a tender filling that’s not too sweet.

Strawberry Cake

We appreciate all the airy sponge cakes at Chiu Quon, and the strawberry is no exception. It’s just sweet enough without being cloying.

Coconut Custard Bun

Another soft, fluffy bun but dusted with shaved coconut and filled with cream.
