Avenida Peru

Avenida Peru is a small, casual Peruvian restaurant in Belmont Cragin. They have a variety of staples like ceviche de corvinha and lomo saltado which are great for dinner. But we really like coming here for their weekend breakfast brunch. It's on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-11:30am, and that's when you can get delicious sandwiches like the pan con chicharron with crispy pork belly or the butifarra with savory ham. But our favorite is the pan con relleno: peppery blood sausage, fried sweet potatoes, and tart pickled red onions all served on a crackly bolillo roll.
