Claudia

This spot is Permanently Closed.

Claudia is a fine-dining pop-up that’s been...popping up…(sorry) around Chicago for a few years, and the chef has found a permanent home in Wicker Park. It opens on October 1st, and they just started taking reservations. There will be a 10-course tasting menu for $225, a 15-course chef’s table menu for $265, and an a la carte menu in their lounge which requires a $25 deposit. You can reserve a table over Tock.

A new bar is opening this Friday in River North in the same building (and from the same team) as The Underground. It’s called The Cocktail Club, and it’s an upscale, 1920s-inspired venue. For their opening weekend, they’re having Macy Grey perform. Doors open to the public at 10pm, there’s no cover charge, and you can check their Instagram for updates.

On Friday the 27th, Ace Hotel is hosting a pop-up night market on their rooftop terrace. There will be a variety of vendors, where you can get food, and buy things like jewelry, clothes, and home goods from local shops. You can also play a round of Millennial Lotería, but you need to sign up in advance and purchase $15 tickets via Tock.

Lotties Pub is having a “Pimp Your Pooch” Happy Hour on Thursday, August 26th, from 4pm-6pm. The “pimping” comes in the form of being able to tie-dye a custom bandana (all supplies provided free) for your dog. Food and drink specials include $6 Bacardi cocktails (with $2 from every purchase benefiting Churchill dog park), $5 Leine summer shandys, $5 beer, $6 greyhounds, and $3 Chicago dogs. Tables can be reserved by emailing lotties@pioneertaverngroup.com, but walk-ins are also welcome.

Marvin’s Food & Fuel in the West Loop is throwing a party for their one-year anniversary. The celebration is on Saturday the 28th from 3-7pm, and they’ll have lawn games, $20 buckets of beer, and offer everyone a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. And from Friday through Sunday, they’re offering $1 frozen sangrias if you buy a sandwich or entree.

Flavors of Albany Park

Flavors Of Albany Park, a food crawl in (you guessed it) Albany Park is happening on Thursday. You pick from one of three routes, and there are around 50 neighborhood spots participating. The event starts at 5pm at Noon-O-Kabab, and tickets for adults are $30. Check here for more details.

Enchanted Tightrope

Need an escape from reality? Of course you do. We submit the Enchanted Tightrope as an option. It’s a free event where tightrope walkers dress up like fairies and perform at local Chicago parks. Check out their schedule here.
