Chicago Restaurant Closings

Chicago restaurants that have closed during the coronavirus pandemic.

Even though new places continue to open, this is an incredibly challenging time for restaurants. The shutdown, reopening at reduced capacity, and concerns for health and safety have forced many to close their doors permanently or for the foreseeable future.

All have been affected - from favorite neighborhood spots to big downtown restaurants where you drank way too much on your birthday. Here is a running list of all the spots that have closed during the pandemic, divided by neighborhood. If you know a place that should be included, or that’s on this list and has reopened, please send an email to chicago@theinfatuation.com.

New as of 4/13/2021: West Egg Cafe, Chicago Grind, No Bones Beach Club, Santorini, Common Cup (for the foreseeable future).
