Chicago’s best cocktail windows.
Last week Chicago made it legal for restaurants and bars to sell to-go cocktails. Being able to wander around the city like we’re at Mardi Gras is one of the only positive things to come from the past three months, so here are some of our favorites.
This Logan Square tiki bar has fantastic drinks, and we’re pretty sure they’re even better when you don’t need to wait for a table inside the bar. If you want, you can also pick up food like noodles and fried chicken sandwiches.
Two locations of Beatrix - Fulton Market and River North - have walk-up windows where you can grab drinks like an espresso Old Fashioned or a blueberry gin collins.
After being closed for two months, Funkenhausen has reopened with a brand new to-go window. You can pick up a bourbon peach sun tea, or a “Funken Freezer Pop” made from tequila, cucumber, lime, and basil.
OK, this Mexican spot doesn’t have an official window so much as a walk-up table. But semantics aside, there are very few things more enjoyable than one of their margaritas.
The loud, busy patio at Federales isn’t for everyone. But thankfully, they have a walk-up window where you can grab their frozen cocktails to-go.
Chef’s Special recently reopened, debuting their brand new walk-up window. Along with their tasty dan dan noodles, you can also grab some fantastic specialty drinks. We like the Chef’s Special, made with gin, hibiscus, mango, lemon and brandy, and the Energy Dome that has tea-infused mezcal and bergamot.
RPM Italian re-opened for outdoor dining, and we wanted to go out to eat. Here’s what it was like.
