Chicago will soon be moving into phase 1C of the vaccination process, Dr. Allison Arwady confirmed in a press conference March 9th.
The city is expected to officially enter this phase on March 29, and it will include food service workers, who, despite indoor dining returning on January 23rd, are not currently eligible.
In fact, a lot of people will be able to receive a vaccine in the next phase of the rollout plan (bank tellers, public safety workers, and lawyers, to name a few.) Vaccine appointments are in limited supply, so while this is good news for the industry, it may still be a while before restaurant workers are fully vaccinated. Be sure to check the health department’s website for the latest updates.
