Chicago Restaurant Workers Will Be Eligible For Vaccines On March 29th

Phase 1C will begin March 29th.

Chicago will be moving into phase 1C of the vaccination process on March 29th, Dr. Allison Arwady confirmed in a press conference today.

This means that restaurant workers will finally be able to receive a vaccine. Because despite the fact that indoor dining returned on January 23rd, they are not currently eligible

In fact, a lot of people will be able to receive a vaccine in the next phase of the rollout plan. Phase 1C includes people with underlying health conditions and other public-facing essential workers, like hairdressers. Vaccine appointments are in limited supply, so while this is good news for the industry, Dr. Arwardy emphasized that it will likely be May before restaurant workers are fully vaccinated. Be sure to check the health department’s website for the latest updates.
