Find Restaurants

Writer: San Francisco (Freelance)

Located in San Francisco, CA

Are you the restaurant-savvy person who friends are constantly asking where they should go on a third date? Or the person who always gets asked to pick the restaurant for a group dinner?

The Infatuation is looking for a few people in San Francisco to help write guides and reviews, and if you’ve got a lock on specific restaurant knowledge in the Bay Area that could be you. Maybe you’re always checking out the newest spots in town, you’re an expert on the East Bay, or you’re really passionate about where to find the best bowls of ramen. Or you just like to eat out. A lot. You definitely don’t need to be a professional food writer: we actually prefer to work with people who don’t have ties to the industry.

Interested? Pick five places you think we should be talking about in SF, and write a caption (a short paragraph) about each - send that to jess@theinfatuation.com. (Check out the "Guides" section of our site to get a feel for our writing style and tone.) Tell us a bit about yourself, but no need for formal cover letters. If it seems like a fit, we’ll be in touch.

ABOUT THE INFATUATION: You know the trusted friends you turn to when you need a restaurant suggestion? That’s us. We aren’t “professional” food critics, meaning you won’t hear any pretentious foodie hobnob from us. We also aren’t restaurant industry insiders, nor do we accept invites, comped meals, or solicited reservations. Ever. We strive to make the reviews and guides that we write both entertaining and useful, so that you can find a restaurant that’s “Perfect For” whatever you need, be it some Action At The Bar, or Authentic Ethnic Eats. In addition to our website and app, we operate over 15 Instagram accounts, and operate an on-demand text message-based restaurant recommendation service called Text Rex. Our business is supported by partnerships with brands such as American Express, Jameson, Budweiser, Absolut, Moet, Mastercard, and PayPal.
