Are you the restaurant-savvy person who friends are constantly asking where they should go on a third date? Or the person who always gets asked to pick the restaurant for a group dinner?
The Infatuation is coming to several new cities soon, and we’re looking for people who can help us launch in those new cities - that means checking out restaurants, writing reviews, and being our eyes and ears on the ground. You definitely don’t need to be a professional food writer: we actually prefer to work with people who don’t have ties to the industry. The most important thing is that you know your city and its restaurants inside and out - from the newcomers to the longtime classics (and everything in between).
Interested? Pick five places people should be eating in your city right now, and write a caption (a short paragraph) about each - send that to firstname.lastname@example.org. (Check out the “Guides” section of our site to get a feel for our writing style and tone.) Tell us a bit about yourself, but no need for formal cover letters. If it seems like a fit, we’ll be in touch.
ABOUT THE INFATUATION: You know the trusted friends you turn to when you need a restaurant suggestion? That’s us. We aren’t “professional” food critics, meaning you won’t hear any pretentious foodie hobnob from us. We also aren’t restaurant industry insiders, nor do we accept invites, comped meals, or solicited reservations. Ever. We strive to make the reviews and guides that we write both entertaining and useful, so that you can find a restaurant that’s “Perfect For” whatever you need, be it some Action At The Bar, or Authentic Ethnic Eats. In addition to our website and app, we operate over 15 Instagram accounts, and operate an on-demand text message-based restaurant recommendation service called Text Rex. Our business is supported by partnerships with brands such as American Express, Samsung, Budweiser, and AirBnB.
