The Burren is a (really) Irish pub in Davis Square. It gets crowded and loud thanks to live music almost every night and, while the food is pub stuff you won’t find particularly memorable, it’s a really fun, comfortable spot to grab a beer, especially if you can sit outside on a summer night.
Coogan’s is an Irish pub Downtown where you’ll get beer for the price of $1 and some stuff stuck to your shoes.
The Haven is a Jamaica Plain pub and, if you ever open a wormhole that brings Robert Burns to the present day, this would be a good spot to bring him.
Biddy Early’s is a well-worn, honey, sort of divey pub in Downtown Boston. We love it, you love it, and let’s all thank god it still exists.
Croke Park (AKA Whitey’s) is a dive in South Boston that’s so popular it’s no longer a dive.
