Field and Vine
Sitting in Field and Vine in Union Square kind of feels like sitting in a salad bowl, thanks to the many actual vines that are decked all over the restaurant and the many vegetables you will be eating. It’s the type of place that makes use of absolutely everything you could find at a farmer’s market and does so in a casual but slightly upscale environment (upscale for Union Square, anyway, which means some people will have their shirts tucked in). Don’t only look for the vegetable-forward dishes, though. The braised oxtail is excellent and there’s rarely a bad time for a whole fried fish.
