Like any East Coast city with a large Italian immigrant population, Baltimore has opinions on pizza. And while old-school spots like Matthew’s Pizza continue to be local favorites, JBGB’s is the best of the newer pizzerias in town. The allium pie is a true standout—it’s creamy and oniony with a scallion bechamel that’s not too overpowering, along with seasonal specials like a roasted squash, fontina, and jowl bacon combo. Come for dinner and split a few pies, plus the double cheeseburger while you’re at it. At lunch, they turn into Butcher and the ‘Wich, a shop with a rotating menu of some of the city’s best sandwiches (the Italian Cold Cut forever has our heart).
