Pollos Las Abuelas does one thing, and does it well. The fried chicken sandwich here isn’t just one of the best in Austin, it’s also one of the most unique. Taking inspiration from South Texas and Mexican cuisines, you’ll find toppings here like Arbol-garlic oil, queso, roasted serrano crema, and cotija cheese. Make sure to add on an order of Bandera Tots, covered in chipotle mayo, cotija, jalapeno crema, and Tajin.
