JewBoy Sliders
Included In
Parked in front of Violet Crown Social Club on East Sixth, sporting a neon sign that shines like a Bat Signal to passers-by, JewBoy Sliders is about as perfect of a way to end a night of drinking on the East Side as any that we’ve found. It’s a trailer from the same people behind JewBoy Burgers and JewBoy Subs (plus, another slider location Downtown), but with an emphasis on tiny burgers, in which the patties are smashed thin and served on toasted potato rolls. And they’re small enough that you can eat a few of them, which is ideal since they come in a couple different varieties—including our favorite with grilled jalapeño, pepper jack cheese, and Hatch chile ranch.
The menu is pretty straightforward. Choose from one of two slider types (or both), then decide if you want to get it topped with a latke and/or bacon. Latkes make a great slider topping, but we like them best as a side order of “Lakitos”—a little basket of fried garlic and onion latkes you can eat side by side with your sliders.
There’s a large patio out front where you can order and enjoy your sliders without ever stepping foot into Violet Crown Social Club if you really want, but then you’d also be missing out on the dark, air-conditioned bar area, cold beers, and frozen drinks that feel like they were born to accompany these sliders.
Stop by JewBoy Sliders at the end of a night on East Sixth—it’s open until 2am on the weekends, and 1am during the week—or just for a casual Tuesday night dinner. We checked, and there’s no wrong time for a slider.
