The Elder Tree Public House

If the giant “Slainte” painted on the window doesn’t tip you off, then menu items like cumberland pie and colcannon more clearly show that Elder Tree is EAV’s neighborhood Irish bar. After a few rounds at the large dark wood bar, it's easy to be lured into watching soccer (Premier League scarves line the walls) for hours in the dimly-lit interior. Go in the early evening when the vibe is more lowkey, so you can grab a beer, play darts, and chat up the bartenders, who will be the first to tell you the food across the street at The Earl is much better. But don’t let that deter you. The Elder Tree is a solid stop in the neighborhood, especially when you need a corn beef and cabbage fix.
