Gunshow
Imagine a Venn diagram for restaurants. In one circle, you have all the places with really great food and in the other, the spots that deliver a unique experience, like Benihana or those revolving restaurants that were super cool in the ’70s. It can be hard to find somewhere that lands in the middle, but Gunshow is definitely one of them.
At this Glenwood Park restaurant, individual chefs make different dishes each night and then wheel a cart to your table with the food they’ve prepared, which you can either take or not. There’s no real rhyme or reason to the menu, which changes regularly and makes any meal here a complete mystery until you actually arrive.

On any given night, there are about 15 dishes available, with squid ink rigatoni as likely to pop up as mapo tofu or squash blossom dumplings. Each dish, however, is large enough to share with a few people, meaning you can try a lot of different food when you’re here, which is definitely the idea. Their cocktail list also switches regularly, with 10 different options to choose from each night. All of this together means that any time you have dinner here, it will be completely unlike the night before or after, which makes the experience here unlike any other restaurant in the city.
Gunshow is loud, crowded, and unique, and while it’s not a great option for an intimate date, this is one of the best places to go in Atlanta for a fun group dinner. No matter what kind of food you eat here, it’s always memorable and if you want to go somewhere that really is the best of both worlds, you should make a reservation at Gunshow as soon as possible.
The menu changes frequently, but this should give you an idea of the kinds of things you’ll eat here.

Food Rundown
Beef Short Rib and Squash Blossom “Dumpling”
The wrapper for this “dumpling” is actually the squash blossom itself and it’s stuffed with a spicy short rib mixture, alongside a wild berry harissa sauce and some za’atar. If you could order dishes more than once here, we would eat ten of these.
Springer Mountain Chicken with Parisienne Potatoes
This was a very nice plate of chicken and potatoes. While it wasn’t one of the most exciting dishes on the menu, it was surprisingly one of the best.
Indian-Style Corn Dog
This corn dog is topped with goat vindaloo, goat milk cheddar, jalapeno relish, and crispy cumin straws, all of which make it the basically the best - and most interesting - chili dog we’ve ever had.
Warm Banana Pudding
In a Venn diagram of comfort food and great desserts, this banana pudding lands right in the middle of the two. If it’s on the menu when you eat at Gunshow, make sure to get this.
