Augie's Cafe
This tiny all-day breakfast spot in the West End is full of wonders like “where the hell do you park” and “how do they fit people in here.” Then, the brunch gods find you a spot across the street, and to your delight, you’re seated rather quickly. That’s likely because the food is out of the kitchen fast. Yet, the flavors on their crispy whole wings and spicy jack grits don’t taste rushed at all. And you’ll want to stick to those savory options since they're the best things on the menu, but the slightly tough waffle is a solid sweet compliment if you get one of their combo deals. While you eat, scan the picture wall of ‘80s singers like Marvin Gaye, who have music ties to the restaurant’s namesake, vocalist, and songwriter Augie Johnson.
