Opening: October 2022

Westside Motor Lounge is going big for their opening this fall. And we do mean literally. They’ve transformed three vacant auto-repair shops into a culinary and entertainment behemoth. The space is just over three acres and will contain a restaurant, cocktail lounge, event space, and game room. And if that doesn’t sound like enough, there will also be a courtyard with a stage for live music, a beer garden, shuffleboard courts, fire pits, and a food truck. So if you aren’t interested in the Southern food on the menu, like the mac and cheese or biscuits and gravy, there will be plenty of other attractions to explore.

Opening: October 2022

La Semilla has grown from the small pop-up, Happy Seed, into a full-fledged restaurant set to open in October. If you were a fan of Happy Seed, you’re in luck because beloved staples like the crunchwrap filled with seitan beef and nacho cheese will be available on the menu. Located at the Modera Reynoldstown complex, La Semilla will offer plant-based Latin dishes and cocktails, adding another option across from the ever-growing Atlanta Dairies.

Opening: Fall 2022

The team behind The Painted Pin and The Painted Duck are betting on the growing popularity of pickleball with their newest concept, The Painted Pickle. If you aren’t familiar with the game, think jumbo-sized ping pong on a shrunken tennis court with sport-specific jargon like “dink” and “the kitchen.” This latest gaming bar, located in Armour Yards between Buckhead and Midtown, will feature eight indoor courts and two patios alongside a full bar, and light eats including sushi, salads, and sandwiches. So yes, the Painted Pickle is set to provide dinks and drinks to Atlanta (we had to do it).

Opening: December 2022

The Interlock on the Westside has exploded with restaurants featuring a wide range of food genres, and they’re going to diversify even more when Humble Pie arrives on the scene later this year. From the team that brought us Lazy Betty and Juniper Cafe, Humble Pie will focus on pot pies, dessert pies, and classic wood-fired pizzas paired with fun toppings like Cajun shrimp, loaded baked potato, and broccoli, if you’re into that kind of thing. Pizza and pies alongside their wide selection of cocktails and local beers might well be a winning combination.

Opening: October 2022

If you were gutted about 8ARM closing its doors this year, here’s a bit of good news to cheer you up. The team behind 8ARM is opening a second Fishmonger location in Kirkwood. The family-friendly counter-service seafood joint will feature a raw bar, a large patio, and their usual cocktails and beer. Unlike the original at Poncey-Highland, the new location won’t have a seafood market but they will be serving up a variety of seafood dishes that will likely continue to be better than anything you could prepare at home.

Holeman & Finch Public House - Colony Square

Opening: November 2022

The story of the H&F burger in Atlanta has reached mythic proportions. The burger used to be served starting at 10pm, with just 24 prepared each night. Talk about a coveted burger. Luckily, it's now served every day and is no longer limited in quantity, so we can all enjoy the cheesy goodness anytime we choose. The home of the legendary burger will be back in business as Holeman & Finch moves into Colony Square later this year. The larger space will include a patio and will serve lunch, brunch, and dinner.

Zakia Modern Lebanese Restaurant

Opening: November 2022

The Alky brothers are bringing their Lebanese and Middle Eastern roots to Buckhead with their new restaurant, Zakia, named after their grandmother. They’ll be featuring some twists on family recipes and new takes on Lebanese-inspired food. Zakia will have a 6,000 square foot dining room, a bar and lounge area, and a patio for outdoor seating. There are also plans for an open kitchen, so you can stare hungrily at your food as it’s prepared. Dinner and a show, if you will.

Opening: October 2022

Brush Sushi Izakaya is relocating to Buckhead with plans to open in 2023. But the owners liked their Decatur space so much that they decided to open a new restaurant in Brush’s place called Cuddlefish. Unlike its predecessor’s ever-changing menu, Cuddlefish will provide casual omakase served in four tiers with varying price points, adding a more laid-back sushi option to Decatur Square.

Opening: November 2022

Nobu has officially (and finally) arrived in Atlanta. The legendary hotel and restaurant chain will be opening this fall in Phipps Plaza in the heart of Buckhead. The restaurant will feature signature dishes like black cod miso, rock shrimp tempura, and yellowtail sashimi. In addition to their well-known Japanese cuisine, Nobu will offer a rooftop bar with views of the city skyline, as well as an indoor bar and lounge.

Opening: November 2022

Your Third Spot might quickly become your go-to spot when it opens at The Works on the Westside in November. The 30,000 square foot space will feature a restaurant, bar, patio, and beer garden, and a variety of games, including curling, bowling, and an arcade. There's a planned menu of small plates and shareables like tuna crudo, crispy oyster rolls, and pepper jack cheese fritters and future plans for a slide to connect the mezzanine to the patio. Yes, a slide.

Serenidad is a new Latin soul food fusion spot from Deborah VanTrece, the chef behind Twisted Soul Cookhouse and Pours. Located in Cascade Heights, the new venue will feature Latin food based on the former flight attendant-turned-award-wining chef’s travels around the world—with her signature twist, of course. She’s already had quite the busy year, opening the well-received Oreatha’s at The Point (also in Cascade) in March 2022.
