Here are Our Recommendations

  1. Post Office

    Post Office

    188 Havemeyer St.
    Brooklyn, NY 11211

We’re throwing down a serious stamp of approval on Post Office, a tiny whiskey bar in Williamsburg. The spot you might easily overlook is serving ridiculously next-level dishes.

  2. Candlelight Inn

    Candlelight Inn

    519 Central Park Ave.
    Scarsdale, NY 10583

Welcome to not only one of Steinthal’s all-time favorite restaurants, but one that began his romance with eating. Specifically, eating wings.

  3. Kajitsu

    125 E. 39th St.
    New York, NY 10016

Kajitsu is such a special place that it deserves to be part of the conversation when it comes to essential New York restaurants. And at its new location in Murray Hill, it’s able to start to get the recognition it truly deserves.

  4. Di Fara

    Di Fara Pizza

    1424 Avenue J
    Brooklyn, NY 11230

A $5 slice is not something we are particularly comfortable with. For a slice to justifiably cost that much money, it should probably either be topped with some kind of delicious and rare animal meat (panda?), or be the last f*cking slice of PIZZA in the world. The $5 slice of pizza at Di Fara is neither. But it is the best pizza in New York.

  5. Gato

    324 Lafayette St.
    New York, NY 10012

Don’t worry about the fact that it’s a celebrity chef’s restaurant. Gato will remind you why Bobby Flay became famous in the first place – because he can f*cking cook.

  6. Vinegar Hill House

    Vinegar Hill House

    72 Hudson Ave.
    Brooklyn, NY 11201

One of our favorite restaurants, especially in the summer when their incredible back garden is in full swing. Bring some bug spray, eat a pork chop.

  7. Lucali

    575 Henry St.
    Brooklyn, NY 11231

Yes, it can be annoying to deal with an unpredictable situation, but for a pizza this good, we’re willing to deal with it. Lucali is incredible.
