LA has great Middle Eastern and Mexican food, but this order-at-the-window spot in Boyle Heights slaps them together on its creative menu. X’tiosu Kitchen serves things like spicy Oaxacan chorizo kabobs on rice, black bean falafel, chicken shawarma tacos with spicy “arabesque” salsa (tahini and salsa verde blended,) and a tangy take on tabbouleh with nopales mixed in. It’s unlike anything we’ve come across in town and perfect for a quick lunch or weeknight dinner.
