If you’re taking a stroll around Highbury Fields and feel in need of either a) caffeine or b) a croque monsieur the size of your face, then Le Péché Mignon is your place. Even if you don’t, it’s worth making a pit stop in this adorable French cafe and shop off Holloway Road. It’s a hush-hush favourite among Islington residents and once inside it’s easy to see why. Fresh croissants and pain au chocolats come straight from the oven—laminated, buttery, and all things you want. While the croque monsieur is a hardback-sized unit that’s gooey with béchamel. The fridge houses slabs of comté and wheels of Baron Bigod, and walking out of here with a coffee and a pastry on Saturday morning is our ideal Francophile experience.
