Al Dente
When we’re after a speedy dinner in Fitzrovia, this tiny handmade pasta spot on Goodge Street is our go-to. Al Dente is a pokey Italian restaurant that has frantic, in-and-out energy, thanks to a mix of metal high stools that don't encourage lingering and quick service. During the day students flock here for the reasonably priced pastas, and in the evening, solo diners' heads disappear into bowls of spicy arrabbiata. Our order is usually the creamy, peppery cacio e pepe , but it’s worth taking a look at fun specials like creamy truffle pasta, that’s rich but not overpowering. Grab a window seat and watch the world go by while you empty a small tub of parmesan on your pasta, or get a takeaway box to eat at your desk if you work nearby.
